Welcome!

Dorothee Oberlinger: [...] These young musicians share a deep and sincere commitment to Early Music, paired with a strong spirit of inquiry and an impressive artistic individuality.[...] My highest recommendation!

Iris Reiner, ProMusica Carinthia: These young talents have once again proven that the beauty of Early Music not only remains alive in their hands but shines ever more brightly with every note. It was not merely a concert—it was a feast for the senses, an educational adventure, and a revelation that the future of classical music is radiant.

about us

Interpreting works of early music in the spirit of historical performance practice and anchoring their essence in the present — this is the mission of Ensemble Astrum. Ena Markert, Felix Elias Gutschi, and Martin Billé span a musical arc from the Middle Ages to the Baroque.

Their international concert activities have already brought this young ensemble to stages in Germany, France, and Austria, where they performed, among other places, in the finals of the competition at the Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival. The ensemble’s members regularly perform with renowned ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Correspondances, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, La Stagione Frankfurt, and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. They have also appeared on prestigious stages such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Resonanzen Festival at the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Verbier Festival. In addition, they are laureates of numerous international competitions.

The musicians received their Education at institutions including the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and the CNSMD Lyon, studying with esteemed teachers such as Dorothee Oberlinger, Kristin von der Goltz, Rolf Lislevand, and Vittorio Ghielmi.

Astrum researches, experiments, and creates. With a wide range of recorders, lutes, and bowed bass instruments, the ensemble ventures into unusual genres — scientifically grounded and interpreted with a progressive spirit.
